July Deadliest Month in Afghanistan for US Troops

The new strategy of clear and hold is bound to cause more casualties. Already a majority of Americans oppose the war and with continuing casualties the numbers will increase. However, there has always been bipartisan support for the war so those who are anti-war have nowhere to go in the two main parties. The civilian death toll is also soaring in spite of the new rules about air strikes.
